BLOGGER'S TESTIMONY THROWN OUT
The Judge in the Dereliction of Duty Librarian case ruled that the character witness did indeed show bias in her blog. The judge stated that by definition a blog is a Web site that contains an online personal journal . ( http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/blog) After reviewing the blog and noting the blogger’s lack of qualified, refereed sources, the Judge concluded that a blog should never be used as factual evidence. “Anybody who would use information found on a blog as a reliable source without confirming that information is a fool,” declared the judge. The Judge went on to relay how he reviewed many blogs and found most of them to be biased. He then went on to say how the blogger in this case, Cat-aloger, shows a clear bias in favor of the defendant and, in fact, shows a willingness to misrepresent the primary players in an effort to sway her readers towards her own point-of-view. He then declared Cat-aloger to be an unreliable witness.
PROSECUTER ACCUSES WITNESS OF BIAS
The Prosecutor in the Dereliction of Duty Librarian Trial asked the judge to throw out the testimony of the defendant's character witness, blogger Cat-aloger, on the grounds of bias. "Clearly Cat-aloger is biased!" claimed the Prosecutor. "The Blogger posted a picture of an angel behind bars and claimed that it was the defendant. Why even the photographer labeled the picture "Angel" not "Librarian" and the witness even deliberately tried to mislead the blog's followers by not correctly citing the picture." "The prosecutor went on to present further evidence of bias by saying that Cat-aloger also posted an unflattering portrait of the prosecution's main witness, the Senior Librarian. As the prosecutor was leaving, he added one more small comment about the Senior Librarian, "She never did look good in that pointed hat."
The Judge declared a recess to review the facts of the testimony and will resume the trial at 3 pm.

BLOGGER USED AS CHARACTER WITNESS
The blogger, otherwise known as Cat-aloger, gave testimony on the good and saintly character of the librarian defendant accused of dereliction of duty. "I have known the defendant since she was born," said Cat-aloger, "and I know her to be an honest, hard-working person dedicated to the library profession." The Blogger went on to highlight various times in the defendant's life when she performed good deeds, such as saving a kitten's life and helping the homeless and oppressed.

PROSECUTION PRESENTS EVIDENCE IN DERELICTION OF DUTY CASE
Today The Judge heard testimony from the prosecution regarding the dereliction of duty case involving a librarian reporting erroneous information regarding her action hero husband. After the hearing the prosecutor spoke to the press, “I am happy with our presentation. We have a mountain of evidence to prove that this librarian gave erroneous information. She has even confessed to the misdeed and should be held accountable.” The prosecutor then left the podium to join his wife, a senior librarian at the same library that currently employs the defendant.

Who knew just how valuable library know-how could be?

CORRECTION
Yesterday this blogger posted a photo without giving due credit to the photographer or the information source. Cat_aloger regrets this error and apologizes to thekingoftoday. [This photo was retrieved from the flickr website on August 10, 2010 and August 11, 2010.] This blogger also knows that the senior librarian is going to question which citation method was used, MLA, APA, or Turabian. Since this is not a report being turned in to a professor, this blogger decided that she would use a more informal way of citing the information.
BLOGGER ACCUSSED OF COMPLICITY IN INFORMATION CRIME!
The net has widened in the information crime begun by a librarian falsely claiming that her husband is a superhero. The Blogger known as Cat_aloger posted a picture of the alleged criminal in her blog late yesterday. Shortly after this posting the Senior Librarian released this statement, "Clearly Cat-aloger did not take this picture herself and yet she did not give credit to the photographer or cite her source. This is a clear violation of what we teach in information literacy classes."
